The
Cooling Tower Institute (CTI) has developed a program
in which they will certify that a model or line of cooling
towers from a specific Manufacturer will perform thermally
in accordance with that Manufacturer's published ratings
as long as a representative model was tested by CTI within
the guidelines they have set forth. All Manufacturers
whose towers are CTI certified are listed on this site.
The
ASHRAE Society is organized for the sole purpose of advancing
the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning
and refrigeration for the publics' benefit through research,
standards writing, continuing education and publications.
Here is the link to their site.
Factory
Mutual (FM) approval is available where local codes mandate
the use of metal towers and/or installed fire suppression
systems . While FM listed towers typically do not contain
altered component designs or materials of construction,
they can provide some added reassurance that the tower
has been burn tested under FM auspices, or can be supplied
with a suppression system designed under FM guidelines.
